About Us

Dr. Lafleur graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta in 2012. He began working in Morinville in 2015 after practicing in a variety of dental settings including a remote satellite clinic in La Crete, Alberta as well as in an aesthetics-driven bustling city practice. These experiences have given him a strong background and broad skillset. Dr. Lafleur has a lovely young family and is an avid sports fan. In his free time, he loves to travel and try new restaurants with his wife Nelia, play men’s league hockey, golf and attend as many Oilers games as he can. He is very proud to serve the community of Morinville and Sturgeon County.

Dr. Ross Horricks has been practicing dentistry in the Morinville community for the past 41 years. He opened his practice in 1984 after graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He is a farm boy at heart having grown up on a multi-generational dairy farm in Namao community. When he is not at his dentist chair, he is tackling odd jobs and projects on the farm where he and his wife Melanie reside. It was his grandparents homestead and is now home to Dr. Horricks’ children and grandchildren as well. The tradition continues and this is something Dr. Horricks is very proud of.

Dr. Brown grew up in North Edmonton and attended the University of Alberta, where she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 2009. With the exception of a two year stint where her family lived in Minnesota, she has been working in Morinville at Lafleur Family Dentistry (formerly Ross Horricks Family Dentistry) since her graduation. Dr. Brown strives to provide her patients with exceptional care while making their visit as comfortable as possible. When not at work, she enjoys spending her time with her three children and her husband, Alex, who is also in the dental field, practicing Endodontics in St. Albert. In her free time Tamara enjoys reading, working in the garden and baking. She can often be found at a various hockey arenas cheering on her kids or the Oilers!

Dr. Tim Barter grew up in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador.  After high school he attended and graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, in Nova Scotia in 1990 with a Diploma in engineering.  He continued on to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he graduated in 1994 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery and joined the military.  His military career spanned 20 years and included stints in Germany working for NATO, North Carolina for advanced surgical training, and culminated with a nine month deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan where he worked in a multinational field hospital treating wounded soldiers.  Dr. Barter retired from active military service in 2010, settling in Edmonton and has since been providing dental surgical care to Albertans throughout the province. He enjoys golf, hockey, travel and aviation in his free time.

Dr. Valencia is a graduate of the of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. Originally from Colombia but raised in Ontario; Dr. Valencia has been happy to call Alberta home since 2022. Dr. Valencia prides himself in providing a comfortable and thorough experience for every patient. When he's not treating patients, you might find him enjoying the great outdoors—hiking, camping, and snowboarding with his wife Susan. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Valencia is committed to connecting with patients from all backgrounds and making sure they feel right at home.
